When I taught first grade, my children read A Fruit is a Suitcase for Seeds by Jean Richards. It was a great book that taught kids about the many fruits that protected and carried seeds out into the world. Jesus told quite a few stories about sowing seeds. The seeds Jesus talked about were important; spreading them was spreading the good news of the gospel. Galatians 5:22-23 lists for us the fruits of the Spirit. This wide variety of Spirit Fruits carries the seeds of the gospel into our weary world.
It was such a joy to celebrate Easter with Broadmoor UMC. Together as a community we celebrated new life, sprouting forth from death. I look forward to continuing the celebration with you all as the Easter Season continues. During April and May in The River we will enjoy the season by looking for these Spiritual fruit in our hearts, our lives and the world we live in. We must pay attention to that fruit. For where there is fruit, there are seeds of grace and forgiveness!
